Corcovado Nat'l Park

Corcovado National Park (Sirena Biological Station) and El Remanso Rainforest Lodge

Trip Description

This trip typically lasts a week and offers two options: Fly-In or Hike-In. The Fly-In option allows those who wish to travel directly to Sirena the luxury of two extra days at the biological station and surrounding trails.

The Hike-In option is for those more adventurous who wish to experience the diverse habitats that comprise the Osa Peninsula, by traversing the heart of the Osa Peninsula from La Palma to Sirena. This hike covers 17 miles over 2 days to get to Sirena and an 11-mile stint at night along the beach to exit via Carate. NOTE: THIS HIKE INVOLVES WADING ACROSS TWO RIVERS AT NIGHT, WHICH ARE INHABITED BY LARGE CROCODILES AND BULL SHARKS!!!

Next Trip:

None Scheduled at this time. See the Osa Peninsula Trip Page. Due to logistics and the increased patrols of Corcovado, and the fact that wildlife viewing outside the park is as good, if not better with less restrictions about approaching wildlife, we tend to avoid going into Corcovado exept for crocodile research.
